The Connection and Importance of Being Provider Led – Member Driven

By Julius Heil, President and CEO, Intalere

Intalere recently announced our 11th annual Healthcare Achievement Awards, a program through which we recognize our members for their outstanding and innovative contributions to their patients, communities and business partners in reducing healthcare costs, improving healthcare quality and serving the community.

We also are further recognizing and honoring our members this week through our annual Intalere Member Appreciation Day activities. These activities are borne of the understanding that Intalere members are making a positive impact every day on their patients and communities, putting into place new processes or undertaking new initiatives, that no matter how large or small, take innovation, drive and resourcefulness that should be recognized and rewarded.

Just as important, these programs and initiatives along with best-practice transfer from our owner Intermountain Healthcare and our member input groups, help form the basis for member-driven thought and action leadership. I often say and believe very strongly that real change in healthcare will not be driven as much by government regulation and policy, as it will be by embracing each other’s perspectives, sharing knowledge, challenging assumptions and elevating care.

Every person within a healthcare provider, and their partners, should view themselves in some way as a caregiver, playing a vital role in providing the best affordable healthcare to patients and communities. We recently created this video with our provider owner Intermountain Healthcare to illustrate this vital link, and show our appreciation, understanding and support of the incredible work healthcare organizations do each day. We salute and stand with those organizations that are leading, collaborating and using new technology and resources to advance the state of healthcare. Thank you for all you do.
