Intalere Member Best Practice Spotlight – Stemilt Growers and Confluence Health Collaborate to Create the Stemilt Clinic

ISSUE

Treating patients with chronic diseases has become increasingly challenging as healthcare costs continue to rise and employers and patients alike experience the struggles of combating these mounting healthcare costs. The vast majority of employees at Stemilt Growers (a local business within the Confluence service area) have no access to healthcare services, and as a result, their chronic conditions remain uncontrolled.

SOLUTION

Employer-sponsored healthcare clinics offer organizations cost containment and increased productivity, while offering employees convenience in caring for their acute or chronic health conditions and identifying more serious and costly health conditions.

Stemilt Growers and Confluence Health collaborated to create the Stemilt Clinic, which is located on-site at the Stemilt Growers Euclid Plant, making access to quality, affordable healthcare just a few steps away. The clinic seeks to improve both access to quality and affordable care through its convenient location for workers and full funding for primary care services and pharmaceuticals at no cost to the patient.

OUTCOME

The overarching goal of the Stemilt Clinic is to improve employee health, lower absentee rates, increase productivity among workers and decrease healthcare costs. Success at the clinic will be achieved once the Stemilt Clinic is the main source for primary care, including wellness, for Stemilt employees and their dependents.
