Introducing the 12 Things Healthcare Must Achieve Flash Video Series – How Do You Define Disruption?

Daily news reports and happenings in the healthcare industry reflect what some might call the chaotic healthcare environment – everyone is seeking answers – Washington, private business collaboration, large healthcare provider responses, insurers, pharmacies and other points of care. What remains ever-more evident, is that value-based care will continue to gain traction and consumerism will grow.

I prefer to view the current market conditions as disruption. According to Harvard educator Clayton Christiansen, disruption “displaces an existing market, industry or technology and produces something new and more efficient and worthwhile. It is, at once, destructive and creative.”

Most often, disruption is rapid change for which you are unprepared. Proactivity and preparation for healthcare innovators and leaders, sharing insight and challenging conventional thinking about the current and future state of healthcare are imperative in the current environment. Those with clear vision, bold strategy and the ability to differentiate will lead the transformation towards the best affordable care.

With that in mind, there are 12 things I believe will shape success and achievement in the healthcare industry going forward.  Check out the first video, Defining Disruption, in the Flash Series, and stay tuned in the coming weeks for more posts and videos about the 12 Things Healthcare Must Achieve.
